CONICAL

Perfect for very hard rock formations, with a spiral flight design for progressive and efficient cutting.

Core barrel is used for cutting annular ring in rock, concrete and in steel reinforced concrete; consequentially the centre core can be broken using chisel, rock auger or Cross Core Barrel.

Using core barrel is possible to increase considerably pressure and torque on the cutting ring which can be equipped with different type of round shank chisel, quick change bars and roller bits.
Core Barrel diameters match perfectly Casagrande casings in both alternatives: Screw and Labyrinth types.

Their dimensions can be changed on Client needs and they are available on request.

Casagrande produces a range of casing joints and pipes designed to protect piles from collapse during drilling. These components facilitate easy pipe connections and include two main coupling systems: conical screw joints and labyrinth joints.

Terminal Sections: Casings are fitted with cutting rings that include widia inserts or other cutting materials.

Casing Drivers (Twisters): Used for driving casing directly via the base rig’s rotary table or for assisting in pipe section coupling during oscillator operations.

Casagrande’s casing joints ensure durability, efficiency, and adaptability for challenging soil conditions and project requirements.

CONICAL SCREW JOINTS
  • Suitable for both double and single wall casings.
  • Made of high-quality steel, designed for heavy-duty applications.
  • Available for diameters ranging from 600 mm to 2500 mm (custom sizes available).
  • Joint thickness varies between 40-70 mm based on casing diameter and soil conditions.
  • Ideal for use with casing oscillators and rotary systems.
  • Coupling is achieved through conical thread screws and centering keys for fast assembly.
LABYRINTH JOINTS
  • Designed for quick coupling of double and single wall casings.
  • Available for diameters from 600 mm to 2500 mm (custom sizes available).
  • Joint thickness varies between 30-70 mm depending on diameter and soil features.
  • Coupling uses inserts in the female joint recesses, designed to support columns during pipe extraction.

Tremie pipes are essential for pouring concrete into drilled piles after placing the steel cage reinforcement. They ensure the integrity of the concrete by preventing contamination from soil or water infiltration, avoiding quality issues or gaps in the pile.

Casagrande tremie pipes are made of high-quality steel plates to ensure durability and resistance. They come with two coupling systems for connecting pipe sections: threaded joints and wire cable joints.

Casagrande tremie pipes and accessories provide a reliable solution for precise, uncontaminated concrete placement, meeting the demands of various piling projects.

THREADED JOINTS

Equipped with male/female threaded connections for secure assembly.

WIRE CABLE JOINTS

Designed for quick assembly and disassembly during concreting operations. These joints feature OR ring seals to prevent water and mud penetration.

ACCESSORIES
  • Funnel: For directing concrete into the tremie pipe.
  • Lifting Swivel: Facilitates lifting and lowering of the pipe.
  • Chain Spanner: For tightening and unscrewing threaded joints.
  • Fork Spanner: For the wire release system.
  • Anti-Slip Platform: Equipped with a clamping system to prevent pipes from falling into the holes.
  • Container Rack: For convenient pipe storage and transportation between job sites.

Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piles are a reliable drilled foundation technique. The pile is drilled to its final depth in a single continuous process using a continuous flight auger. Concrete is pumped under pressure through the hollow stem of the auger to the bottom of the bore, and as pumping progresses, the auger is gradually withdrawn, bringing the excavated soil to the surface. Once the auger is removed, reinforcement is placed into the concrete pile to meet design specifications.

  • Installed with minimal vibration and noise.
  • Efficient for a range of soil conditions.

Casagrande offers two types of CFA couplings, 160 mm and 200 mm, tailored to rotary torque, soil conditions, and drilling depth requirements. CFA strings come with inner tube diameters of 5” and 6” for compatibility with base rig concrete piping, with other sizes available on request.

Casagrande CFA solutions are designed for high performance, offering customization to meet specific project demands while ensuring efficiency and reliability.

COUPLINGS

High-strength hexagonal male/female joints, fully machined from case-hardened steel.

DIGGING HEAD OPTIONS
  • Double-start head for rock or soil.
  • Equipped with interchangeable round shank chisels or teeth.
CONCRETE EXIT

Bottom exit includes a steel plug and recovery chain; side exit available on request.

Soil Displacement piles are cast-in-situ concrete piles constructed using a rotary drilling rig, which advances a displacement boring tool into the ground by applying torque and crowd force. This method is ideal for various soil conditions, including sandy gravel, sand, silt, clay, and soft organic soils, as long as the soil can be displaced.

During concreting, the full displacement auger continues to rotate clockwise as it is extracted, with tangential reamers creating spiral grooves along the borehole walls. These grooves are filled with pressurized concrete, significantly enhancing the pile’s load-carrying capacity.

  • Diameter Range: Piles can be constructed with diameters from 250 to 1000 mm.
  • Inclination Ratio: Up to 4:1 under normal conditions.
  • Torque Transfer: Casagrande joints handle torque moments up to 600 kNm.

Casagrande’s Full Displacement Augers are designed for cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and safe production of vibration-free cast-in-situ concrete piles. They offer high performance and reliability for projects requiring ground stability and environmental consideration.

NO TEMPORARY CASINGS

Simplified technology eliminates the need for temporary casings.

SOIL COMPACTION

The full displacement auger compacts the soil as it is screwed into the ground with its lower opening sealed by a bottom plate.

DRY BOREHOLES

No excavation takes place, keeping boreholes dry.

SILENT AND VIBRATION FREE

Suitable for projects near sensitive structures, groundwater tables, or contaminated soils where soil exchange is not possible.

STABLE BOREHOLE WALLS

The walls remain supported at all times, eliminating the risk of collapse.
